Nefertiti has, since its opening in 1978, become a jazz institution, well known across the world by visitors and musicians alike. There was a lot of visual heritage that had stuck over the years, due to the history that comes with a venue nearing its 40th anniversary, and the need for a unified visual appearance became apparent.
Everything, apart from the logotype, was changed or updated, featuring a consistent base grid and typeface. The classic cover art by Blue Note inspired the choice of typeface, Walsheim by Grilli Type, which is both modern and distinct.
